So I am gaming with a two command regular army
I throw four dice
one command gets the highest of the bunch
one command gets the next highest
two dice are not used
do I only reject one of these if three dice generate a 6?
otherwise how do I know which of the 6 dice to eliminate?
I hope that this is clear ???

How could it possibly matter which 6 you eliminate?

In your scenario (2 reg commands only) you would roll 2 dice of the same colour (to represent the regular commands - assuming they are on table)
and 2 other dice each a different colour
so you roll 2 white dice 1 red and 1 blue
they land white dice 3, 5 red 6 blue 2
The command with the highest allocation gets 5
The command with the next highest gets 3
The red dice is discarded as it is a dummy and rolled a 6
next turn roll the 2 white dice and the blue
Alternatively - if there is likely to be no weather impact from dice eg no risk of rain wind etc and its pretty obvious all your points are visible and on table then just roll the 2 white dice (and say Sorry Norman when you do :))

OK - two command regular army.
Two dice are for the commands and are the same colour. The higher goes to one command, the lower to the other command (or you average the two and round down).
The other two dice are individually coloured.
They are not swapable with the command dice for the real commands.
The 4th is certainly eliminated if it rolls a 6 - not sure about the third - I would have to check my rules.
BTW - 2 commands is really not a good idea in DBM or DBMM.

Thanks for the help, all is now clear....
I was playing solo DBMM200, hence the two commands

You can still use 3 commands in DBMM 200 (and I would) I normally play 240 AP with 25mm figs
Its a really good game
