A BUA on a hill gets placed when the hill is, but does it still need to be adjoining a battlefield edge or astride/in contact with a road ? which would mean it has to be in contact with a battlefield edge as roads are placed after hills ? or does it just obey the placement rules for hills ?

Good question. I'd say you place the BUA once the hill has been placed. It sounds like an easy way to avoid placement rules for BUAs. :o

So I should place a hill, then the BUA as a separate piece of terrain ?
does this count as 1 or 2 FE ?
Does this mean I can only place a BUA on a hill that is already placed adjacent to a road/table edge ?
or if I do not place the hill/BUA next to a table edge I have to put a road by/through it when roads get placed....?
The reason I am asking this is the piece of terrain in question has been modelled by me as a BUA on a hill ! and a difficult hill at that...if only I had modelled it on the flat life would be so much easier....

You would dice to place the hill you want to place the BUA on.
So you could not dice for 3 hills then choose which one to place the BUA on.

The hill and BUA count there separate FE costs

No it would be where the hill ended up after being dice for, even in the enemies deployment zone!

Yes :-)
Any chance you could post a photo of your BUA Its always nice to see terrain people have made.
Can you put TF or PF round it?
Best Regards

Thanks, I am much clearer about when and how to place it now.
