Title: HO in a river
Post by: foxgom on December 22, 2008, 04:09:28 PM
Hi

a few lists quote Hidden Obstacles to be used to defend a river against boats.

I have not understood how these work.

Any boat reaching them would count as being in difficult terrain (P16) but this is not a combat disadvantage for naval elements (P37).

Is this an oversight or have I missed something?

I think you are right, except that it makes them impetuous (last bullet of para 1, p30, "...crossed a hidden obstacle this bound ...).

Not sure if boats in a river would be impetuous anyway: are they "in" the river, or merely "on" it?
