Title: Komnenan man-pushed wagons

My interpretation of the man-pushed wagons of Alexios Komnenos, with no historical basis whatsoever ;D

You may be working without any historical basis, but they do look good!    ;D

They actually did quite a good job in the bash we had yesterday (Alexios Vs Bohemond)..

...a bit slow and ponderous,  and lost one to psiloi, but knights fairly bounce off them  ;D

How were they made?

They are made mostly out of thick card, scored to look like planking, then painted and 'weathered', with cut down cocktail sticks for axles and for the pole holding up the banner.

I experimented with one as a prototype then made the rest to the same pattern when I was happy with the result, varying small details such as the 'vision flap', .

The pavises on the sides, and the various polearms sticking out, were from Donnington Miniatures.

Figures are a mish-mash of Essex, Donnington and Magister Militum. The Banners are mostly from a wargaming flag website (can't remember the url) with one from a nice Little-Big Man Studios set.
