You are cordially invited to attend the Funeral Games in honour of Alexander the Great taking place at Rampage on SUNDAY June 26th see http://www.ilfordwargamesgroup.co.uk/
Following a years mourning armies from his Successors and their key enemies may gather for up to a generation to contest his Funeral Games and to the strongest shall go the ultimate prize.
This will be determined by the usual Rampage rules -3 games will be played on Sunday 26th June using the DBMM v2.0 rules and the appropriate DBMM army lists.
This consists of 3 games using DBMM200 rules ? armies not to exceed 240AP.
Scale 15mm ? games will last 2hrs 20mins + random time up to 12 minutes
Games will stop when time is called and then any combats are carried out.
Individual comp is 3 for a victory 1 for a draw 0 for a defeat - in event of a tie after the 3 games - most wins determines, then total 25-0 score as per the rules. A victory is defeating more than half the opponents army. Intention is to encourage fast play and quick decisive games. This also counts towards the Formula 1 Grand prix see http://mkws.org.uk/index.php?id=81 so form into teams of 3 as well (here scoring will be as normal) - if you haven?t a team don?t worry we will sort something out. This is also a BHGS ranking tournament.
For the purposes of regular ally generals changing sides, no game shall be deemed a civil war.
Army lists are themed around Funeral Games and are detailed below
Proposed timetable
Check in 08:45
First game 09:15
Second game 12:15
Third Game 15:15
Prize giving 18:00ish

All lists dates and hence options must be between 322 BC - 297 BC.

All the applicable armies/slots are at the link below and this will be updated by the list checker as lists are submitted and checked.

Just pop the 27th of June in your diary and turn up. There'll be no cost on the door :)

We are ahead of the game at the moment - no details up on ilford site - ive sent the DBMM details to them - eventually the details will go up there as to where to send entry etc (I suspect to Pete Cross)
Most paid on the day in previous years
- Ill let you know as soon as - doesnt prevent you from getting your list in
One question someone asked me was whats the board size - same as last year which was the full depth for 240 so 120cm x 90cms or 4' x 3' for the old school
If you say your going then dont I'll send Gordon round to make you an offer you cant understand
Get your list in - armies are going at a cracking pace
Kind Regards

12 entries in so far, including all three WAR entries. An interesting mix - 4 Macedonians, 3 Skythians, Thracians, Kappadokians, 2 Arabs and the Sarmatae.
My own choice (Sahae) is on the basis of what I have that's in the list, but I fear for them on a 3' table! :-\

Hi Tim,
Am not participating but find it strange to announce which armies are taking part before all lists have been handed in.
Not much of a motivation for registering early.

Have you read the comp rules? :-[
He has only listed armies that have been taken, not who's taking what,at the moment only 1 person knows that. :-X
If you read the comp rules that is the motivation to register early. :)

Hi Neil,
The point is only one instance of each army is allowed in the competition. The incentive to register early is that if you don't, your preference may be bagged by someone else. It also means that Les gets the lists in in lots of good time, rather than all coming in in a rush at the end like they usually do... ::)
I can sort of see that someone might want to wait and see what's been chosen, but that could be a high-risk gamble. AFAICS, I'm the only mug to have publicly announced which is his choice.
