Hi there CGSoc, When are the Cancon '07 results going up on your site?
Probably never. I don't really know why, but Cancon results don't normally get published on the CGS site. Perhaps the Cancon DBM competition is officially a SAAW event run in conjunction with Cancon, rather than a Cancon event. Or something like that. The results usually go up on the SAAW web-site, though.
How are your Ancient Gamers finding 'MM'?
Chees, Brian
- A lot of swearing at the rules;
- A belief that Romans are overly favoured by the rules;
- Acceptance that there's a good game hidden in the rules, and one that's better than DBM 3.1;
- People like the Brilliant and Inert generals, the stratagems, Morale Equivalents, movement in metric, and a few of the other rules and concepts;
- They dislike the complexity of the combat system and the lack of cross-referencing within the rules;
- I think a few are disappointed that the rules have been sent to the printers, as this prevents a few more points from being addressed.
We're giving the a good hard workout, which I think they haven't had for a while, and if you're on the DBMM list, you'll see that after a few games each Thursday night, we're coming up with a few questions. The key thing is that a lot of people are willing to give DBMM a real chance.
