Free sliding into contact?
« on: July 30, 2008, 10:26:58 PM »
:) Played a game last monday night, few things came up of which I think we played most things correctly but would just like to confirm them.

On one occasion I was measuring to see could I get a light horse into the flank of a Knight wedge, one front corner could contact the other could not, we took it that the free slide does not allow any extra movement ahead to make contact only horizontal slide was this correct?

If the furthest away corner could contact all the light horse would have to do was line up to the enemies with said corner in any contact with the enemies side edge then slide to make full flank contact?

If you read the relevant section on page 33 you will see it is not just a "free slide", it is "extra movement".

This can be "a sideways shift" and/or a "wheel or pivot".

So as long as you can manage at least one point of contact, you can get the extra 80 p.
