Firstly, thank you for your interesting and detailed explanation. Just two bits. I think that lining up means eing parallel AND "aligned" (front left corner against right enemy front corner). Otherwise rear rank element shooting could give rear support shooting being just parallel, and not aligned (read distant combat section, I don't remember the number of page).
Secondly, I can assure you that D cannot EMTLU. This was one of the options I firstly thought, but its rigt front corner was 140p away from contact!
This means that D can't be moved at all.
I think the sequence you suggest is good excepto for these two points, IMHO.
