DBMM100 - min/max query
« on: September 06, 2010, 01:05:59 PM »
Hi all

First post after much reading. :)

I am getting into DBMMv2 in a big way and am really enjoying it. My regular opponent and I have been getting to grips with the basics with weekly evening games of dbmm100 (although this weekend we are rolling out 400AP armies for the first time).

I am fielding Polybian Romans and have a question about the mins and maxs in dbmm100 for things like triarii and leves.

Triarii are normally "2 per 8-12 blades" - so in dbmm100 should I change this to .....

a) 0-1 per 8-12 bd
b) 0-1 per 4-6 bd
c) 1 per 4-6 bd
d) 1 per 8-12 bd

Or do I leave it the same as original i.e. if I field less than 8 blades I don't field triarii?

Or am I thinking too hard about this?  :-\

Thanks in advance

Welcome to DBMM,
I have never played DBMM100, but I can tell you that DBMM 200 is awesome, if you need a smaller version to learn it.

Thanks for the welcome Lorenzo

The reason for playing dbmm100 for now is simply a matter of time available on an evening and the speed of our play - slow...but getting quicker.

In dbmm100 the mins are quartered (rounded down) and the max's halved (rounded up) so when an normal list entry says "2 per 8-12 bd" what I'm trying to work out is which bits to quarter and which bits to max (if any) or if this stays as it is.

In dbmm200 the mins and maxs are halved as I recall so this particular min/max issue would still apply. Would it be "1 per 8-12 bd", "0-1 per 4-6", or something else...such as staying as it is? ???

Ratios should stay the same, so it would still be 2 per 8-12 Bd or whatever. It would just be the minima and maxima of Bd that would change.
