Ships (not Boats or Galleys) moving within 45° of upwind count as in difficult going. They also count as in difficult if there is no wind (happens intermittently on weatherscore 1 and constantly on 0).
There's no effect on other element types.

Direction is mentioned under the score of 5. Compass points are determined under 'Aggression dicing' p. 18.
Wind strength for those you mention is 'light'.
'Water features' p.20 gives general effect of moving upwind.

Hi
5 is not really clear....
"light wind blwing from NE in cold or cool if winter"
is this
in cold or (cool if winter)
or
in (cold or cool) if winter ?
I suspect the first is meant, but this contradicts "strong wind from NW in cold if autumn".
Logically 5 seems to say that in Cold in Autumn the wind is light from the NE and strong from the NW.

I think 2) is intended.
If it was any season in cold or winter in cool, then it may well have said 'any season' as in 3.
Since you have pointed out that 1) would be contradicted by the autumn result then 2) makes sense. Reading 1) would also, if applied to 4 make there a risk of snow all year in cool but only in winter for cold

Hi
if 2) was intended, this tells us what the wind does in the winter in cold or in the autumn in cold.
So what does the wind do in cold in the spring or summer?
