BUA vs. BUAf And PF
« on: November 06, 2013, 07:56:53 AM »
Hello,

I am confused about how to correctly interpret "PF must be part of a BUAf" as it applies to BUA features NOT exceeding 800p (because we know from DBMM pg. 11 that all BUA over 800p must include PF) and "BUA" and "BUAf" as specified in army lists.

If I understand properly, a list-specified "BUA" may be either unfortified or include TF or include PF.  PF must be part of a list-specified "BUAf" but is that in the sense that a list-specified BUAf of any size must always include PF regardless of size?  Or, could a list-specified BUAf NOT exceeding 800p in size either include PF or be unfortified at the choosing player's choice?  I believe the intent is probably for list-specified BUAf to include PF 100% of the time regardless of size, but I'm not partisan about either alternative, I'd just like to know for sure which way is the correct way.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Brian

"PF must be part of a BUAf" just means that all PF must be part of a BUAf. You can have a BUAf without PF (assuming the BUAf is less than 800p across), but you cannot have PF without a BUAf.

Two things to note:
Frontier Walls are a special case of BUAf, therefore can include PF.
Plain BUA can't be larger than 800p across because otherwise they'd have to have PF, which they can't.

Your interpretation works for me.  Thanks.
