What period to pick for 6mm DBMM?
« on: June 01, 2007, 03:57:17 PM »
Hi all!
Me and a few friends has a few DBM armies in 15mm, but have recently been tempted to start out together with 6mm armies that are historically reasonably correct while still giving us diversity in troop types.
We have kelts, LA Persians, C Indians, Warring state chinese, Feudal Spanish Medieval German and Im currently making a Fanatic berber 15mm army, so prefferably we'd want to try out a brand new period/location.

What periods are best represented in 6mm?
What periods do you recommend?

Book 1?
WoR English?

Cheers!

We are using Baccus 6mm to do Classical Period, so Republican Roman, Mithridatic, Seleucid, Ptolemaic, etc..  but for compatability with our 15mm figs we are basing them on 15mm. They look very impressive.

The Baccus Pikemen are mounted in files of figures, and fit 8 wide on a 15mm base (but have to be put on a 20mm deep base). On a 60mm base they would have 12 x 4 and look really fantastic.

Sounds like a great period for 6mm, but Im not sure I can get our Celt player to once again do that period. When you have some models for a period in 15mm, its easier to continue with that so you can morf different armies etc.
But who knows?
I bet they look splendid in 6mm...

I've seen 6mm based for 15mm & it is indeed very impressive - although it looks a little strange fighting against 15mm.....

Yeah the 6mm project will probably have to wait =(
On the other hand I found 2 unpainted 15mm armies in the attic so I have things to paint ;)

Hmmm very tempting but I have no idea what shipping from the US would come to, even at the most snail like pace. How much does it weigh, assuming that is the key consideration for US Post?

yup weight is a big factor in US shipping.

I know in england the bos goes for 47 Pounds. its marked on the side of the box.

I'm sure its less then that to ship it.

it weighs in about 2-3 us pounds.

so i figure maybe 30-40$ us to ship it. but i am not sure.

If you do paypal then i could find out and you paypal.

or if you have a better idea let me know.

The men have been out of there resealable bags once. While I oogled at them. but No one here is into 10MM.

if you wanna look them up. the brand is Magistermilitum

the product codes are:
gho 18
gho 14
gho 3c   X4
gho 5     X4
gho 1b    X4

The X4 are lumped into one bag each for 3 fat bags and 2 small ones.
also there are some wooden bases in a bag of their own.

If you want them let me know and I will find out what the shipping is.

I will need the address and postal code to find out for sure.

Thanks.
