is it right to assume whomsoever rolls higher deploys second on the second die roll?
And what if the second die roll is a tie?
No - Having previously established who is invader and who is defender (Aggression Dicing page 18) - and having drawn deployment maps - Initial Deployment p22 section (1)
You now establish who deploys first as per section (2)
If the invader scores double or more then they will deploy first
If this is not the case the defender deploys first
The dice roll may be modified by all mounted armies inc Ps or Bg (F)
If you need to dice a second time because the raw scores were a draw eg 3-3 - then it is this roll that counts - the subsequent roll is only for time of day
So in a 3-3 the defender will deploy first
Now carry out steps 3, 4 and 5
- you know now - who is invader/defender - who is deploying first, the time of day and weather effects
Armies are on table
all that is left to establish is who takes first bound - in the majority of games
this will be the person who deployed first - there are exceptions (as ever) on p 26
Sequence of Play near top
An inert C-in-C always moves second
If there is a visibilty issue where it is less than 400p (as established under time of day/weather) eg night, mist, fog etc then the invader will take first bound
