DBMM 100 - baggage question
« on: December 12, 2007, 03:03:21 PM »
Hi,

My gaming group and I have been playing a fair bit of DBMM recently, particularly the DBMM200 variant which suits the space & time we currently have available.
Over Christmas we're hoping to have a small tournament using the DBMM100 variant.
I have a couple of questions:
1. In DBMM100 is baggage compulsory?
2. If so, does the Baggage count as Army baggage, contributing 0.5 ME per Bge element, or Command baggage, 2ME per Bge element?
If counting as Army baggage, is there any advantage to having Baggage at all over say, 2 extra Psiloi elements, which contribute the same ME bonus, with the added advantage of being another "warm body" to throw into the fray..?

Many thanks

Hi Guys,

1. Like Penda said. Not compulsary unless the list says it is.

2. It can't be army baggage because there can only be one command in the 100AP game. Must be Command baggage.

"Each army has only 1 command and general...."

Cheers,

Could still be army baggage, but it would be insane to do that. Army baggage can be assigned to a normal command.

Hi,

Thanks for all your comments.
Having 2x elements of command baggage certainly "ups" the ME of these smaller DBMM100 "armies".
One concern, although it's not a major issue given the VP system for determining the winner of DBMM100 games, is that this 4 ME boost might make it difficult for some armies to break, or even dishearten, their opponents within the 1 hour time limit.
Anyway, I'll give it a go.
We're planning on playing our games on 30"x30" boards using 15mm figures.
I'll post some battle reports & photographs afterwards.

cheers

Bob

You need to balance the need to defend it - remember the loss of 4ME will also hurt a lot.

With only 1 PIP dice and a lot of room on the table it isn't that easy - it can quickly become a target for marauding LH.

Enjoy I have played many Big Battle DBMM100 (usually 125AP 25mm on a 6' x 4') its a very absorbing game

OK, I'll give you that.

My understanding is more implied rather than specific.
