Hi,
In the definiton of Cm(X) it says that they fight mounted as El(I) & foot as Bgge(I).

But do they receive outcomes of distant & close combat as El(I)/Bgge(I) or as Cm?

Also do Cm(X) inflict outcomes as Cm?

It won't make a difference vs Kn's who are 'QK'd' by both El & Cm, but it does make a difference vs Cv & LH who flee if beaten by Cm but only recoil if beaten by El.

I'm not too sure on this one. What is more important, what the troops are (Camels) or what their opponents think they are (Elephants)?

If they fight as Ele(I) then maybe the outcome on both sides should be as Ele(I), not Camel. I don't know!

Phil! Can you help on this one as a reading of the rules does not make this clear. At least not to me.

Or, as I was thinking of the Cm(X) in the Southern Dynasty Chinese list, the enemy will be thinking, 'mmmm.... here comes a rather odd looking, very large, lion with loads of human legs sticking out from underneath'.  Unless the bamboo-and-paper lions were on wheels?

Anyone have any bright ideas as to what they looked like?

If they "fight as" something then they essentially ARE that thing while in combat - they use the factors, they take and inflict resutls as if they were it.

If they "use the factors of" something then they only use the factors of that troop - they do not take and inflict results as if it.

I'd be interested in seeing where PB said that Bw(X) fight as sp but take casualties as if bow - I think you are mistaken.

Probably you are confusing them counting as Bw for distant combat, and as Sp for close combat.
