The last fleeing question...I promise!
« on: February 11, 2008, 06:51:48 PM »
Sorry, the final question.  ;D Must burst through friendly elements make a fleeing move on their own or just be put in contact to the front/rear of the fleeing element?

I understand this sequence shoud be followed:
1. The fleeing element makes its fleeing move and is put into its final position.
2. Every burst through friendly element makes its own fleeing move.
3. All burst through elements ending it move beyond the fleeing one's front are moved backwards as much as necessary to contact such front.
4. All burst through elements ending it move behind the fleeing one's front are moved forward as much as necessary to contact the fleeing element's rear.

Correct?

Thank you

I don't think there's any need for burst through elements to end in contact with it is there?

As I read it if they flee a lot further then they stay ahead, and if htey flee slower then they stay well behind as apporpriate.

I don't think so either, but why the need of specifiying "...if after both had moved..."? If we are talking about "normal" flee moves they should be simply moved their normal distances until the final position was reached: no matter where they end their moves. I suspect that this very precise description is telling more, but I'm not an expert in Barkerese!  :-[

I don't think there's anything strange about "after both have moved" - it's just telling you when the decision is made - after they have moved, not before or during.

IIRC there is wording in DBM about "fleeing with it" or something like that - this wording removes that & brings the rule back to a single arrangement that is decided at a single point in time.

I see. So basicly all elements make normal flee moves and they just stop wherever they end their moves. Simpler. I'm afraid was looking for something unexistant!  ;D

Thank you.
