9c Page 54

:) One last question before I go to bed.

In figure 9c on page 54 one of the options of Blade Y is to remain stationary, why does it not have to line up? or is this the diagram that should have Y in a group with other elements and would this matter?

It looks like that if Y is allowed to remain stationary then A does not have to line up as it is not in the TZ of Y.

Because it is not compulsory to line up.

I know some people like to argue that he wording for the extra movement to line up makes it compulsiory, but they are just wierd IMO.

The fact that "remain stationary" is a listed option is the hard evidence that EMTLU is not compulsory (if there were any doubt).

Diagram 9c is wrong. Moving single elements MUST line up to enemy. Only groups moving straight ahead can contact an enemy corner without lining up (page 33).

In diagram 9c A and Y are not in contact and there is no presumption that Y will move into contact.

And moving into contact with the corner is not one of the options given anyway!
