DBMM at Wintercon 2014 - survey on themes and format
« on: February 18, 2014, 01:20:46 AM »
Hi there.  (Apologies if you get this more than once).

The DBMM guys at the Canberra Games Society are just doing some planning for the DBMM competition at Wintercon 2014 in Canberra and would really appreciate your feedback if there is any possibility at all that you may be entering the competition.

We would really like your views on the three possible themes for the competition which are detailed below.  We would also like your views on the game format for the competition.  And we would like to get some idea of how likely you are to enter the competition, for planning purposes.

You can give your feedback by completing the short online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ML867SS .  We really encourage you to take the short time needed to give feedback.

Thanks!

The theme is being discussed at the moment on the Oz_Ancients email list.

There seem to be three fairly closely matched themes being discussed:

1. Men of Iron: Based on an Italian comp described on the Tagmata site, it's limited to armies and enemies of Western Europe from 1066 to 1302;

2. Armies of the European Dark Ages: Not sure of the exact date range, but I think the idea is for armies somewhere between the fall of (Western) Rome and the 11th century;

3. Armies and Enemies of the Ottoman Turks: Pretty much as the name says, it would allow armies from the "enemies" list of the Ottoman Turkish list.

Thank you Barritus,

 I would go with the Men of Iron list of armies , including the allies limited to the list.
