Errata - Book 1 2nd edition
« on: March 09, 2017, 01:07:22 PM »
Here are some errata from the new version of Book 1.

This first lot are errata carried over from the first edition which weren't addressed...

1/4 – Zagros Highlanders: How are we to construct Sumero-Akkadian allies for this list? The Akkadian list as constructed doesn’t provide for generals in the specified time period when it can provide allies for the Zagros Highlanders.

1/5 – Early Elamite: From 2600BC to 1400BC the upgrade available for the C-in-C also applies to the sub-general; this isn’t the case after 1400BC. Why not?

1/6 – Early Bedouin: From 2200BC to 2000BC the Amurru C-in-C and sub-general can be upgraded to Reg Pk (I), although the list doesn’t provide for any other Pk. Is this intended?

1/15 – Later Amorite: Who is Iasmah-adad king of? Babylonia? Assyria? Others?

1/35 – Cypriot: Upgrades for sub-generals aren’t available after 665BC. Why not?

1/41 – Medes etc: Is it intended that Medes from 620BC should be able to get up to 3 sub-generals?

1/52 – EHG: Thessalian allies in Athenian list, minimum 3 LH(O) is illegal, should be 4.

1/53 – Saitic Egyptian: Can Greek Sp (O) support Spartan Sp (S) as Spartiates can in EHG and LHG lists?

1/57 – Etruscan League: Can Sp (S) be concentrated within a command or must they be fielded 1 to each command? If the latter, can any elements support them?

1/59 – Tullian Roman: Is it intended that there are no troops which can legally support a Sp (S) C-in-C?

= = = =

On top of that, there are errors which have appeared in the new list books, thanks to changes which have been made.

1/14 – Early Northern Barbarians: before 1400BC in Europe, should generals also be regraded to something not impetuous?

1/22 – NKE: Just confirming, if you downgrade the infantry to irregular, they’re not bound by the restrictions applying to armies with three sub-generals?

1/35 – Cypriot: After 665BC and after 490BC, can sub-generals be regraded the same as C-in-C?

Early Etruscan etc: Is there any reason why the Early Etruscan sub can’t be regraded as a chariot? Are there any limits on which commands chariots can be allocated to?

According to E Bedouin list (list 6), Martu have CH and DH. Um, shouldn’t this be under list 4?

I don't claim to know why they get CH and DH, but the Martu/Amurru/Amorites are Semites from Syria or thereabouts, and clearly more at home in the early bedouin list than the highlander one.

Apparently their chief god was titled "lord of the mountain", and a "mountain of the Amurru" is mentioned, so perhaps the idea is that they lived on Mount Lebanon or something.
