I agree that your second diagram is even more counter-intuitive and the first is a better reading of the literal rules. I will try and remember to put it in the next Commentary.

This issue is already covered in the Commentary!   

It was a Committee rather than Phil or Consensus decision, that the Ps ends "directly to its own initial rear" of the element it passes through, and "facing the same way that it started".

As a Committee-decision, it's open to review if there is a clamour for a different consensus, or if Phil were to make a different ruling.

There is a clarification in the Commentary already.     Of course, if it's wrong at could be amended.

In this particular case I think that it's right.  Otherwise the wording has some very funny effects if the element that the Ps is passing through has its back to the Ps.  Having the Ps run straight back away from their attackers makes a lot more sense.

There is a clarification in the Commentary already.

Maybe Phil will tell us someday his intentions about this rule.
I'm not in favour of this clarification in the commentary, but who am I to question the wise men of DBMM  , so I will play from now on this rule according the to commentary.
