Cost of DBMM100 Generals
« on: June 29, 2008, 08:31:14 AM »
Hi

Page 44 DBMM 100 and DBMM 200.

The extra cost of the generals is halved.

What does "extra cost" mean ?
The extra cost for brilliant or also the extra cost of having a general?

e.g.

DBMM 400
Regular brilliant Cv(S) General costs 10+20+25 = 55 AP

DBMM 100
Regular brilliant Cv(S) General costs 10+20+12 = 43 AP
or
Regular brilliant Cv(S) General costs 10+10+12 = 32 AP   ?

There is not much point in having a regular CinC if you only have one general so DBMM 100 would seem to favour irregular generals.

Indeed.

Our 'house' rule is to ignore the cost of the general, so only pay for his as his element type, plus half of the extra for being brilliant or inert (+13 or -37).

I'm not sure the value of a brilliant general should be halved really as he is just as good as a normal brilliant general...

Yeah but 25 pts is 1/4 of a DBMM 100 army - which is too much of a penalty for having a Brilliant general who can only affect a smal number of troops.
