Just confirming shooting
« on: August 30, 2008, 11:56:57 AM »
Dear all,

I know it may sound silly, but I want to be sure that I'm doing it correctly. Every time an element is shooting, I must confirm that I can draw two lines from both fornt corners to an enemy edge section of at least 2 cm wide (including a corner) AND nothing must be obstructing this "cone-shaped" area. Right?

Thank you.

Each time you shoot you must check all criteria for an allowed shot.

NB it is not "nothing" in the cone shaped area, it must be free only of other elements. There could be LOS-blocking terrain in there but it would not stop you shooting, as long as some part the target element is visible to some part of the shooter.

Also, if you can target a full flank edge then the shot is allowed even if the edge is less than 40 paces.

It is not compulsory to include a corner in your 40p of edge length.

But If there is a corner, can I shoot while I can see 10p leftwards and 30 rightwards? I mean, is the sum on both sides of that corner counted?

Thank you very much

Yes as long as you have 40 paces "of any 1 target edge or of 2 edges joined at a corner", or an entire flank edge of any length.
