Do I understand correctly that FS is always frozen in winter? That seems a tad exaggerated.

As far as I can tell FS is only ( and the only sea capable of it ) frozen on a weather score of 1 or 2, what is amazing on a weather score of 5 in cool WW, rivers, bogs and marshes are frozen but not in cold?

As far as I can tell FS is only ( and the only sea capable of it ) frozen on a weather score of 1 or 2,
"Lakes frozen, waterway, sea (if applicable) and rivers un-navigable due to floating ice in Cold if spring."

I've taken this to mean that only lakes actually freeze, while waterways, FS, and rivers are rendered impassable to both land and naval by unconsolidated ice. This in spring, nota bene.

The terrain definitions say "Some parts of the Baltic and Black Seas are also frozen in winter (noted in army lists as FS)", which seems to be saying FS is frozen in winter no matter the weather score.

Of course you are correct, frozen in winter, spring if only on a one or two weather score.

I wonder whether features with floating ice ( rather than pack ice ) should be impassable to any troops, but that is possibly something for the distant future.

AFAIK FS is always frozen in winter.

But there's not many lists get it, and then you still ahve to select it as a water feature, and get to fight in winter....it's not real common!
